Police Search For Sex Assault Suspect After Attack Near CSU Campus

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) – Police in Fort Collins are searching for a sexual assault suspect after a woman was attacked near the Colorado State University campus.

The attack happened just after midnight, about 12:15 a.m. Saturday in the area of 100 West Lake Street, which is adjacent to the CSU campus.

The victim is a 22-year-old CSU student. She told police she was approached by an unknown male while she was driving westbound on West Lake Street. She was alone in the car.

According to the victim, the suspect waived her down while he was standing on the south side of the road. He approached the driver’s side of her vehicle and opened the door. Police said he had a knife and physically removed the woman from the vehicle and pulled her to the side of the road near the railroad tracks. That’s where he sexually assaulted her.
